Everyone in the STEAM Lab at Meade County’s College & Career Center a few weeks ago saw the world of science and math come alive with interactive chemical reactions that brought bright smiles to the faces of every student in the room. It was Monument’s very first full classroom immersion with the Meade County students — and an exciting step in an enhanced partnership with the local school system. 

Monument Chemical was recently presented with the Outstanding Service to the Community award at the annual Meade County (Kentucky) Chamber Banquet. The award recognizes a business, individual, or organization in the Meade County Chamber of Commerce who sees the BIG PICTURE and works to improve the quality of life in Meade County through serving on the board, volunteering, and/or making investments into Meade County. 

When Bram De Maesschalck decided to join our team as Production Engineer two years ago, he knew Monument was a company where he could make an immediate impact and be a true driver of change. Having grown accustomed to the inflexibility of a big corporate structure at his previous company, he now had the support and authority to take his career growth into his own hands. And just this past September, he was given the opportunity to do just that in a new, exciting way with a move into Business Development.

Black History Month invites each of us to learn (and share!) remarkable stories of resilience, courage, and achievement of the Black community – from historical figures to the people and leaders who inspire us today.

At Monument, we are excited to help amplify that inspiration – so we invited team members to share their own personal stories of the people who inspire them – whether it’s someone from history, contemporary leaders, or even the friends and mentors in their lives. Let’s hear from two of our team members!

International Women and Girls in Science Day is coming up this Sunday, February 11, and we never want to miss an opportunity to celebrate the incredible women who work in STEM fields, especially our Monument team members! So this year, we’re catching up with Yndalecia Martinez, Senior Production Engineer at the Monument Houston site! Serving in her 4th year on the Introduce A Girl To Engineering Planning Committee, Yndalecia came to Monument with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M — fueled by a love for chemistry and math, and a special role model who was a successful woman in tech: her mom!

As many companies do at the beginning of the year, Monument recently compiled a comprehensive list of our top wins from 2023 – to share with our team members and capture learnings that we can build on this year.

Meade County School District is setting a new safety precedent across the state of Kentucky  — and the Monument Brandenburg site is helping make it possible. As a leader in safety across the community, Monument was first in mind for Meade County to help them take a big step toward a more secure learning environment. And now, they can say they are a trailblazer as the first in the Commonwealth to implement top-of-the-line incident response technology into its schools. 

It’s only been a little more than a month since Marvellous Oguejiofor joined Monument Houston as our new Production Engineer, but it didn’t take long for him to hit the ground running. And that’s because he knows the key to success in production is putting in the work ahead of time.

As Monument’s new HR Manager, Mario Renap wears quite a few hats. He’s an analyst, listener, disciplinary, strategist, and empathizer. From supporting leadership with compensation and benefits questions, overseeing social relations, managing data, budgeting, and more, his daily to-do list never looks the same twice. And he absolutely loves it that way.
