Monument Chemical Invests in Expanding Global Supply of Bio-Based Solvents, THFA and 2-MeTHF, Through Minasolve Agreement

October 6th, 2026

Monument Chemical is investing in expanding its global supply of THFA (tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol) and 2-MeTHF (2-methyltetrahydrofuran), two bio-based solvents used across pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and specialty applications.

The expansion is part of a new agreement with Minasolve as the company ceases U.S. production of these solvents. With more than five years of experience producing high-purity THFA and 2-MeTHF in both Europe and the U.S., Monument is well positioned to support continued supply through its established multi-site manufacturing platform, quality systems, and commercial network.

“This is exactly the kind of opportunity we look for – one where our capabilities, assets, and people allow us to solve a real need for customers,” said Sarves Peri, President, Monument Chemical. “We know these products and markets well, and we’re ready to build on that foundation to strengthen global supply and better serve our customers.”

That global footprint is particularly important for customers in the pharmaceutical market, where quality, reliability, and security of supply are critical.

“Our ability to produce in both Europe and the U.S. gives us a strong global position to support pharmaceutical customers with production close to where they operate,” said Sweder van Rijckevorsel, VP Business Leader, Europe, Monument Chemical. “Combined with our well-established quality assurance and control systems for high-purity solvents, it allows us to provide the consistency and reliability these applications demand while continuing to grow with our customers globally.”

The agreement also expands Monument’s ability to support customers across agrochemical applications. “Dependable supply is critical for our agrochemical customers,” said John Lewis, Senior Commercial Director, U.S. Solvents, Monument Chemical. “Expanding production gives us greater flexibility to support their evolving needs.”

For Minasolve, identifying the right partner to carry the business forward was important.

“As we sharpen our focus on other bio-based chemicals, it was important to identify a partner with the experience and capabilities to continue supporting our customers for the long term,” said Frédéric Marmousez, CEO of Minafin Group. “Monument knows these products and markets well, and we are pleased to have found a strong partner to support a smooth transition and the continued development of these bio-based solvents.”

Over the coming months, Monument and Minasolve will work closely with customers to understand individual requirements and support a smooth transition.

The agreement builds on Monument’s broader commitment to adapting alongside its customers – strengthening supply and expanding solutions that meet evolving performance and sustainability needs. Monument’s capabilities include circular solvent solutions such as recovery, purification, and reprocessing.
