Monument Brandenburg Team Inspires Students at Local Manufacturing Expo
November 20th, 2024
On November 1, Monument Chemical employees from the Brandenburg, KY site participated in the Manufacturing Expo at the Meade County College and Career Center, an event designed to introduce students to the fascinating world of manufacturing through interactive, hands-on experiences.
This year, Monument Chemical brought “The Science of Polymers” to life, engaging students in creating their own bouncy balls. The activity not only captivated imaginations but also provided a unique opportunity to connect the fun experiment to the real-world chemistry behind Monument’s processes.
“Our goal was to show students how science applies to everyday products and careers,” said Allie Greenwood, Process Engineer Lead. “It was exciting to see their faces light up when they realized the science of making a fun bouncy ball connects to what we do here at Monument.”
Through activities like this (and many others!), our team aims to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators.
