Announcement: Vernon Harris and Dennis Proctor
June 13th, 2025
As Baytown transitions to terminal operations, Vernon Harris will join the Port Arthur team as Site Logistics and Shipping Manager, backfilling Dennis Proctor following his retirement.
Vernon has demonstrated strong leadership in adapting operations to changing feedstocks and customer needs. He played a key role in the THN product introduction, onboarded and commissioned the Dowtherm RP crude process, and successfully transitioned operations when traditional PGO-type feedstocks became unavailable. He also managed staffing adjustments and led the integration of Specialty Fuels terminaling at Baytown.
In his new role, Vernon will oversee Baytown's asset repurposing and support long-term production plans in Port Arthur.
Dennis made a lasting impact through his leadership and commitment to operational excellence. His efforts were pivotal in restoring a strong working relationship with the U.S. Coast Guard, rebuilding credibility and trust, a fact reflected in the positive outcomes of recent inspections. His contributions have been instrumental in reinforcing the site's regulatory standing and ensuring continued compliance.
Vernon will report to Ian in his new role. Please join me in congratulating Vernon and in thanking Dennis for his contributions.
Sincerely,
Kurt Griffith
