With Monument recently celebrating its 10^th anniversary, we’re picking up speed in sharing our unique story with the industry. Whether we’re meeting a potential customer for the first time and exploring partnership possibilities – or discussing a capability that an existing customer didn’t know we offered – every conversation opens the door to new possibilities.

In early September, at the Chemicals America Specialty & Agro trade show (Charleston, SC), the Monument team enjoyed many opportunities to meet with long-time partners, as well as a range of industry players who were interested in learning more about Monument’s capabilities.

In August, La’Breece Perry wrapped up his third co-op rotation at Monument’s Brandenburg site. And just as before, he’s walking away with a successful project under his belt – and months of hand-on learning that will help guide his path both academically and professionally.

“Other companies may have internship opportunities for students interested in the specialty chemical industry, but Monument stands out from the crowd because our co-ops and interns don’t work on the sidelines,” said Rachel Flaherty, Process Safety Leader, Brandenburg. “They work side-by-side with our team – tackling real challenges and designing real solutions that make a difference for our site and our customers.”

When Monument started growing the Product side of its business, quite a few customers reached out to the team to ask if Monument was still committed to our Custom Manufacturing business. The answer was – and is – a resounding “yes!” As a matter of fact, Monument has been taking steps to grow its Custom Manufacturing presence and capabilities. Joining Amanda Muilenburg as part of the North American Custom Manufacturing team are: Deb Kovacs, Umar Virani, and Paul Marcellus.

Conquering the aftermath of a perfect storm requires perfect planning – and plenty of teamwork, flexibility, and fast thinking. When weather predictions about Hurricane Harvey turned severe in late August 2017, the Monument team in Texas quickly took smart, critical steps to prepare for the storm. The end result? Both of Monument’s sites – Houston and Baytown – were the first chemical producers in the gulf coast back up and running in the wake of one of the most impactful hurricanes in the region’s recent history.
