Recycling Wins in Brandenburg

Congratulations to the Brandenburg, Kentucky team for some incredible recycling wins in 2021!
The team recycled:
- 13,100 pounds of cardboard
- 2,580 pounds of paper
- 430 pounds of aluminum
- 1,290 pounds of plastic
What does this mean??
Our cardboard and paper recycling saved:
- 133 trees
- 2,979 gallons of oil
- 31,360 kilowatts of energy
- 54,880 gallons of water
- Our Aluminum recycling saved:
- Energy equivalent to operate a small appliance (such as a computer or television) for 41,280 hours!!!!!
- Our plastic recycling saved:
- The equivalent energy usage of a one person household for one year!
FUN FACTS
- Glass and Aluminum materials can be recycled infinitely without any degradation in their quality.
- Recycling a single plastic bottle will help save enough energy to power a 100 – watt bulb for 4 hours!!!
- Cardboard fibers can be recycled 7 times!!!
