Congratulations to the Brandenburg, Kentucky team for some incredible recycling wins in 2021!

The team recycled:

• 13,100 pounds of cardboard
• 2,580 pounds of paper
• 430 pounds of aluminum
• 1,290 pounds of plastic

What does this mean??

Our cardboard and paper recycling saved:

• 133 trees
• 2,979 gallons of oil
• 31,360 kilowatts of energy
• 54,880 gallons of water
• Our Aluminum recycling saved:
• Energy equivalent to operate a small appliance (such as a computer or television) for 41,280 hours!!!!!
• Our plastic recycling saved:
• The equivalent energy usage of a one person household for one year!

FUN FACTS

• Glass and Aluminum materials can be recycled infinitely without any degradation in their quality.
• Recycling a single plastic bottle will help save enough energy to power a 100 – watt bulb for 4 hours!!!
• Cardboard fibers can be recycled 7 times!!!
