A Cleaner Port, A Cleaner Future: Monument Kallo Team Takes Action
October 1st, 2024
The month of September is traditionally marked by World Clean Up Day in Belgium. Like many companies in the chemical industry, Monument Chemical also organized a clean-up campaign as part of the Port Clean Up Challenge 2024 of Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Several teams of colleagues departed from Monument’s parking lot and set out to collect litter in the immediate vicinity. In total, no less than 8 full garbage bags were collected. A big thank you to all colleagues and the young “Moncheys” for their efforts in cleaning up a large part of the Ketenislaan!
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Natuurpunt and Mooimakers join forces every year for this major clean-up campaign. In 2023, between 100 and 150 tonnes of litter and 50 to 100 tonnes of floating debris were collected from the port. Companies from the region play a key role in this and together make a big difference to nature and the port.
