Organizational Updates: Key Transitions and Expanded Roles

January 21st, 2025

Dear Team,

At Monument, we are deeply committed to personal growth and development, ensuring that our employees can expand their skills and contribute to our business goals. To continue building on this foundation, we are announcing several key organizational changes that strengthen our alignment with business goals, create career development opportunities, and support Business Excellence.

Please join us in congratulating and supporting the following individuals as they take on these new or expanded roles:

Centralized Procurement Team (U.S.)

We are forming a centralized Procurement team in the U.S., to be led by Jeff Haug. Jeff has been instrumental in managing our key raw material purchases across the U.S. and collaborating with local S&OP teams and site Procurement teams. In his expanded role, Jeff will oversee overall U.S. Procurement, including raw materials, MRO, and site purchasing. In the coming days, Jeff will coordinate with site leadership to identify and map out procurement responsibilities at each site and determine which positions and individuals will report to Jeff.

This centralized approach mirrors the successful model already in place in Europe, and we are confident a centralized U.S. procurement organization under Jeff’s leadership will drive significant Business Excellence results.

Sales Leadership for the Oxides Business

Deb Schofner will take on an expanded role as Director, Product Sales and Custom Manufacturing, leading product sales while continuing to lead custom manufacturing and supporting business development. Deb will continue to report directly to Don Phillips on the BMT. Direct reports to Deb are:

  • Brent BradleyTracy Miller, and Jim Smith (Product Sales)
  • Rob Einterz (Business Development/Sales) Rob will remain on the Oxides BMT.
  • Gaby Rangel (Custom Manufacturing)

We’re excited about the impact Deb and her team can have on the Oxides business this year.

Strategy Leadership

Avjit Dugal, currently Strategy Manager reporting to me, is making an exciting career move to The Heritage Research Group (HRG), where he will serve as Project & Portfolio Manager on Sibel Selcuk’s team, reporting to Jeannie Phillips. Avjit will lead efforts to enhance project portfolio visualization, management, and reporting – key to accelerating HRG’s innovation and technical success.

To ensure a seamless transition at Monument:

  • Luke Smith, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, will assume responsibility for our Strategic Planning Process. This organizational alignment process links our Strategy and Budget processes under Luke and his team. Luke and his team will continue to collaborate with the GLT and BMTs to lead these key processes.

Business Excellence Leadership

Kris Sturgul, previously part of the Solvents Supply Chain team where she advanced key waste projects, will now report to Jacob Davis. Kris will continue to partner with teams in the U.S. to manage and execute high-priority Business Excellence initiatives for 2025 and beyond.

Matt Overaker, previously Accounting Manager, who recently led a successful tax rebate optimization project, will now also report to Jacob Davis managing Business Excellence projects, collaborating with sites and business lines to accelerate Business Excellence goals.

These changes reflect our ongoing focus on people and the future of our business. Please join us in congratulating these team members on their new roles. We are confident they will bring great energy and expertise to these positions and contribute to Monument’s success.

Thank you for your support in making these transitions smooth and impactful!

Paul
