A Memo from Adam: Update on Coronavirus for Operations Team
March 20th, 2020
Monument Operations Team,
Things have really changed for all of us, at home and at work, since I last wrote you on March 15.
As everyone around the world is rallying to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, at Monument we have implemented two main goals: keeping every employee safe and keeping our operations running smoothly for our customers.
The news is that production is as high as ever, orders are flowing in, and our quality continues to shine through. It makes me especially proud to think that our cleaning and sanitizing agents are critical for keeping the world safer from the coronavirus.
As things change, which they probably will, we are ready. We have planned for a wide variety of scenarios to keep our production moving, no matter what changes come.
Some quick thoughts:
- Thanks to all of you for keeping our safety record strong and for adapting to the new normal of work at Monument, whether you are in the plants or working from home.
- Safety in our plants continues to be every employee’s number one job. Standard safety protocols are still in place and have equal priority with coronavirus prevention guidelines.
- As safety training always stresses, it’s easy to get distracted about safe processes when there’s a lot going on. Keep your eye on the ball.
- Watch out for your co-workers. Speak up if you see a safety situation developing, particularly if others don’t see it happening. Everyone has a vital role to play on the safety team.
- Be smart about the coronavirus. Wash your hands frequently. Stay six feet or farther away when talking with your co-workers or even outside of work. Social distancing may feel strange, but it is proven to prevent infection.
- Most importantly, if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever and dry cough, go home or stay home. Your healthy recovery is important to us.
- Also, if you or someone you’ve been close to develops symptoms or tests positive for the virus, let us know immediately so we can implement sanitizing protocols in our plants to help keep your fellow co-workers safe.
- If we need to go into lock-in operations mode, we have plans in place to keep the facility sanitized and keep people safely separated from each other to limit the risk of infection.
Remember that we have set up a Monument Chemical Emergency Hotline at 855-564-2020, and we will continue to keep the information shared here updated. You can visit the Monument Chemical Coronavirus webpage for the latest information. You can also reach out to your respective Team Leader and/or HR with any questions or concerns.
Be safe,
Adam
