A Message from Bill Grube

6/23/2020

Dear Monument Family,

I hope you’ve enjoyed the videos from our leaders over the past weeks. I’d like to thank the GLT members for sharing their favorite Monument successes through our recent challenges – as well as their own personal experiences in these unique times.

I would also like to thank YOU for listening. Over the past few months, the world has learned important lessons about the importance of listening to each other to navigate the challenges we all face – from staying safe through the COVID-19 pandemic to our ongoing push for a world in which every voice feels respected and heard.

While I believe we’ve always been skilled at listening to each other thanks to our team-oriented culture, I know we’ve grown this ability even more over the past few months. We’ve discovered new ways to listen to our customers. New ways to listen to our team member’s ideas to make the impossible possible. And of course, our shared commitment to listening and following our newest procedures to keep each other safe.

Speaking of our new safety procedures, I would like to commend the Houston team for working quickly to put those procedures to the test to ensure the safety of the team following the identification of positive cases. I know this has been a particularly challenging time for our Houston team members, and I appreciate your incredible efforts to respond rapidly and effectively.

Throughout our challenges, I have felt incredibly proud that Monument is playing a critical role in helping keep people around the world safe and healthy. To date, we’ve produced an unprecedented amount of isopropyl alcohol – far more than our standard volume – so that our customers can make the sanitizers and cleaning products that have been desperately needed. Our polyols and other chemistries are critical for making masks, gowns, medical tubing, and more to help first responders and front-line healthcare workers serve the sick. Our solvents are used to manufacture much-needed medical devices, as well as computer and telecommunications equipment.

What we make every day has made the world safer, healthier, and more connected during a very disconnected time.

Our success wouldn’t be possible if we didn’t have a strong culture where we work together, every day, to keep ourselves, our families, and our communities safe and strong. We are a family, by choice and by our actions. We enjoy working with teams locally or across the globe. We have the kind of family mentality that we’re all in this together – and that we’re going to figure this out.

So while this latest video may be the last in this particular series, there’s more sharing of our learnings and wins to come as we continue to figure out solutions to our challenges. I encourage you to share YOUR successes via our new Above & Beyond page on Monument Connect.

In the meantime, I thank you again for all you do. Keep listening to each other. Keep up your incredible efforts. And most importantly, keep safe.

Bill
