A Memo from Bill: Coronavirus Update - Operations Essential Mode

March 15th, 2020

Monument Team,

As mentioned in my note on Friday, we are committed to keeping you updated as the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves – so you can expect that communications will be frequent as we face great changes in our communities and in the world.

I need to share some critical updates to our coronavirus actions and plans:

  • Starting Tuesday, March 17, we will go into Operations Essential mode – which will help limit the number of people in each work area. This means that only Operations Essential personnel will be on-site at each Monument location, which primarily includes all personnel working on our shift teams AND personnel designated by leadership as Operations Essential
  • On Monday, March 16, all NON-Operations Essential employees will be allowed to come into their work spaces – to pick up any materials necessary to work from home. If an employee has everything they need to work from home, they can start Monday morning. Managers should collect employee contact information, including personal cell and home phone numbers.
  • Each Monument location is working out pay practices for this unique situation. This includes both our Operations Essential and Non-Operations Essential personnel. We recognize the challenges of this situation, and we intend on maintaining wages for our team members at home and at work. More info to come from our HR Business Partners.
  • While plant operations will continue to run, gathering areas should be limited to the appropriate number of people who can maintain as much physical distance between individuals as possible.
  • All in-person meetings – internal and external (including with customers) should be conducted via teleconference.
  • Site visitation will be highly limited – and restricted only to business-critical needs.
  • If you (or someone in your immediate family) is in a higher risk group as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and have concerns about exposure in your work location, we encourage you to discuss with your supervisor whether an alternative work arrangement may be reasonably accommodated.
  • All work-related air travel is prohibited without my permission.
  • We realize that there are a number of vacations/time-off planned due to spring break, etc.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding your plans, please reach out to your HR Business Partners.
  • We have set up a Monument Chemical Emergency Hotline at 855-564-2020, and we will continue to keep the information shared here updated. You can also visit the Monument Connect Coronavirus webpage for the latest information.

As mentioned in my note on Friday, the health and safety of our team is – and will remain – our top priority. If you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out to your manager for support.

Again, I thank you sincerely for your commitment and flexibility as we navigate these challenges together.

Bill
