A Memo from Bill: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update & Information

March 13th, 2020

Monument Team,

In light of the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation – and so much new information to process every day – I wanted to make sure all of you have clarity on how we as a Monument team are taking the necessary steps to protect each other and to safeguard business continuity.

Before I share specific guidance and steps, I would like to emphasize our guiding principle as we proceed: your safety and well-being are paramount. We will do all that is possible to protect the health and wellness of all of our team members.

Here are some key actions, updates, and calls-to-action:

  • We have set up a page on Monument Connect with the latest coronavirus information – including some important recommendations from The Heritage Group. We will keep this page updated as we have information available.
  • We have ramped up cleaning activities at all of our facilities. We ask that you join us in this effort, particularly around proper hand-washing. (Here is a link to a poster that  has been posted in bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
  • We are limiting site visitors to minimize risk. We are reaching out to all scheduled visitors with a series of pre-screening questions, and we are asking all visitors complete this same questionnaire before entering the site.
  • We are recommending the use of virtual meetings as much as possible. Please fully assess if an in-person meeting is necessary, and if not, consider ways to collaborate via phone, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • We understand that closed schools may present a range of challenges for some of our team members. We are in conversations right now to work through guidance, which will be shared by your local HR team shortly.
  • All Monument leaders are in deep discussions about the operational measures we need to take from an S&OP standpoint to ensure business continuity. Your site team will be keeping you informed as we move forward.

With these new challenges, I ask first and foremost, that you work safely. While distractions are high right now, we must remain focused and stick together in our shared commitments.

We will continue to keep you updated in this evolving situation. In the meantime, please keep up the good work, keep yourself informed, do what you need to do to stay safe, and continue to operate safely.

Thank you for your support, flexibility, and commitment.

Bill
