As Monument’s new HR Manager, Mario Renap wears quite a few hats. He’s an analyst, listener, disciplinary, strategist, and empathizer. From supporting leadership with compensation and benefits questions, overseeing social relations, managing data, budgeting, and more, his daily to-do list never looks the same twice. And he absolutely loves it that way.

November 13 to 17, 87 Monument Chemical employees representing all US sites came together to volunteer for approx. 307 hours for our "United for Service" event. This year's theme was again food scarcity, and our eager volunteers worked at area food banks and community pantries, stuffed snack kits for local children, and more! It was a wonderful day of fun, togetherness, and giving. Thank you to our incredible volunteers!

A big thank you to our Brandenburg employees who participated in two exciting events in October: Manufacturing Career Awareness Day (October 26) and Junior Achievement Inspire (October 24-27).

Every season, hundreds of Meade County residents find exploration and solace among the foaming cascade of Buttermilk Creek on the park’s immersive, 2.25-mile trail. But as of this April, their experiences will be enriched by a new level of appreciation and understanding of the plants and wildlife that inhabit it.

And Monument is proud to be part of what’s to come! The Monument Brandenburg Community Advisory Council recently awarded Meade Co. Extension Homemakers with a Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) grant for their “Life on Buttermilk Falls Program,” which will truly take education outside the classroom.

At Monument, we pride ourselves in being a leader within our communities. And if there’s one thing we value as much as the growth and development of our local area, it’s the growth and development for our people who live and work there. So when the opportunity emerged to nominate one of our own at Brandenburg to the Meade County Leadership program, we didn’t hesitate in doing so. As we continue to enjoy Hispanic Heritage Month, we are reminded that celebrations like these are not just about dates on a calendar, but about the vibrant stories and rich traditions that make our employee stories and our company culture so unique.

At Monument, we take pride in the incredible diversity that our employees bring to the table. To truly appreciate the significance of this month, we've asked two of our team members to share a glimpse into their heritage and cherished traditions.

When it comes to emergency response, Monument's Port Arthur, Texas team has raised the bar – and they've got the numbers to prove it. A whopping 17 employees from the facility recently stepped up to become certified emergency medical responders (EMRs), and they've shown just how effective good training and great leadership can be.

August 20, 2023 will be a day that no one at Monument Bayport will soon forget.

The team’s unparalleled dedication to safety over the years has paid off in a major way — as Bayport officially hit 5 years OSHA recordable/injury free!

For over a decade, Monument’s Intern and Co-Op programs have brought together some of the area’s most talented, aspiring environmental scientists and engineers to sharpen their skills and get hands-on experience at our plants and in our labs. While their time with us has resulted in some incredible success stories, our business continues to benefit from their talent and work ethic in so many wonderful ways too. And this year’s talent delivered big time!

The newest member of the Monument family – our Port Arthur plant – was recently awarded ISO 9001 status, a significant milestone that will advance the site’s growth and enhance the capabilities of Monument as a whole. It joins Houston, Kallo, Brandenburg, and Bayport sites as ISO 9001 certified. The most impressive thing about Port Arthur’s new status is the time in which it was achieved!
